While colorectal cancer is still most common in people age 50 and older, it is becoming more common in those in their 20s and 30s generally as well as compared to incidences in members of that age group from past generations. This rise in cases may be due to recent increases in obesity, alcohol use, Type 2 diabetes, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and other factors, although no direct cause has yet been identified.
