In this week’s video, we are discussing quality in an endoscopy and how well colonoscopies detect polyps which may lead to cancer.
We discuss the GIQuIC initiative which measures factors such as:
– withdrawal time – adenoma detection rate
– cecal intubation documentation
– quality of bowel prep
– risk assessment documentation
Finally, we present the Cedar Valley Digestive Health Center’s colonoscopy scorecard and compare our numbers to national benchmarks.
